Eye Exams & Other Vision Services in Parma

Comprehensive Eye Exams for Kids & Adults in Parma

Scheduling an annual eye exam is the #1 way to protect your vision. Comprehensive eye exams enable our Parma optometrists to detect and treat various eye diseases and conditions in their earliest stages to ensure optimal outcomes in patients of all ages. These exams are also a great opportunity to make sure your eyeglasses and contact lens prescriptions are up to date so you can see clearly.

Eye Disease Diagnosis & Treatment in Parma

Our optometrists provide top-notch, personalized vision care for various eye diseases and conditions. Take a look below at some of the conditions we diagnose and treat at our Parma clinic (formerly known as Doctors of Optometry).

Conjunctivitis

Conjunctivitis—also known as pink eye—occurs when the thin layer of tissue along the eyelid’s surface and the white part of the eye (i.e. the conjunctiva) becomes inflamed. This condition can affect one or both eyes and can be contagious.

Allergies

If you suffer from red, puffy, and watery eyes every time allergy season rolls around, we’re here to provide the relief you need. Whether your eyes are triggered by pollen, pet dander, or dust, our doctors have a treatment for you.

Styes

A stye is a red bump that forms on the edge of your eyelid—similar to a pimple—and is typically painful. Styes form when the eye’s oil glands get clogged, and an infection sets in. If the stye doesn’t go away on its own, seek medical treatment at our Parma office. We will diagnose and treat your stye with one of the following methods:

  • Drain the eye via a small incision
  • Prescribe an antibiotic ointment
  • Administer a steroid injection to minimize swelling

Inflammation

From allergens and contact lenses to makeup and other personal care products, various factors can cause eye inflammation. Treatment options available at our Parma location include eye drops, steroid medication, and antibiotics.

Dry Eye

Are your eyes constantly dry, itchy, and red? Our dry eye treatments in Parma will provide the relief you need.

  1. Tearcare: Tearcare helps relieve dry eye symptoms caused by Meibomian Gland Disorder (MGD)—a blockage of the tear glands.
  2. Artificial Tears: Artificial tears help alleviate short-term symptoms of mild dry eye.
  3. Punctal Occlusion: Tears can drain through the punctum, which is a small opening in the upper and lower eyelids. Punctal Occlusion helps stop tears from draining.

LASIK Consultation & Co-Management in Parma

We offer LASIK consultation and co-management services in Parma, including both pre and post-op care for LASIK patients. Scheduling a LASIK consultation is the first step in pursuing this type of refractive surgery.

During your laser vision correction consultation, you will undergo a comprehensive eye exam with dilation to see whether you’re an ideal candidate. Your doctor will explain the cost of the procedure, which varies depending on the specific type of LASIK procedure performed (standard vs. custom).

If you want to receive vision care from the best LASIK surgeons in Ohio, schedule a consultation at our Parma location to see if LASIK is right for your eyes.

Optomap Retinal Exam in Parma

We offer advanced optomap imaging at our Parma location. Optomap is an eye exam that dilates the pupils to provide a detailed view of the retina. Our doctors administer this exam during your routine eye exam to better identify the root cause of any vision problems and offer more customized solutions. It also helps them detect any retinal abnormalities or diseases to help you prevent further vision loss.
