Dr. Abinaya Thenappan is an ophthalmologist specializing in cataract, refractive, and anterior segment surgery.
A Southern California native, Dr. Thenappan graduated from Claremont McKenna College with a major in science and management and a minor in biotechnology. She earned her medical degree from Columbia Medical School, where she was deeply involved in ophthalmology research, publishing numerous papers and presenting her work at national conferences. She then completed her ophthalmology residency at the University of Southern California.
Dr. Thenappan was drawn to ophthalmology because of the incredible difference ocular surgery can make in people’s lives. She is dedicated to helping patients improve their vision and is committed to achieving the best possible outcomes by focusing on each patient’s unique needs and vision goals.
In her free time, Dr. Thenappan enjoys playing tennis, spending time with her family dog Simba, reading mystery novels, and exploring new cities with her husband.
