Shamik Bafna, M.D.Dr. Bafna is a board certified ophthalmologist who completed an additional one year fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery after his ophthalmology residency. He has been in practice for over 25 years and annually performs over 2,000 cataracts and over 1,000 laser vision correction procedures such as Smile and LASIK. He specializes in laser assisted cataract surgery with a focus to reduce a patient’s dependence on glasses. He has been one of the first surgeons in the Midwest to use advanced lenses such as the Panoptix, PureSee, Vivity, Toric, and the Light Adjustable lens (LAL). He lectures nationally and internationally on various ophthalmology topics. Through our research department, he is able to provide access to devices and lenses that are currently not available in the United States.

He serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Case Western Reserve University.
In addition, Dr. Bafna has a unique perspective in treating his patients having had the LASIK procedure himself. Dr. Bafna currently resides with his wife and family in Brecksville. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling and has visited over 75 countries.
