Dr. Carrie Balthaser attended John Carroll University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. She went on to attend Pennsylvania College of Optometry, earning a Bachelor of Science degree and her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2003. Her externship rotations included primary care, pediatrics, a hospital, and ocular disease management.
She has been practicing optometry in the greater Cleveland area for the past 20 years. She has experience in primary care, ocular disease management, co-managing cataract and refractive surgery, and fitting glasses and contact lenses.
Doctor Balthaser joined Cleveland Eye Clinic in 2024. She resides in Avon with her husband, fellow optometrist Dr. Eric Balthaser, and their two children. She enjoys cooking, reading, baking, traveling, playing tennis, and spending time with her family.
